Altrusa Read-In

September 16, 2009
8:30 amto9:30 am

An invitation is extended for readers for Altrusa’s 21st Annual Read In.

County-wide readers are needed for Elementary schools.

Check with the Altrusa Coordinator at the local school of your choosing.

Date: Wednesday, September 16th.

Time: Varies a little by school but typically 8:30-9:00 A.M.

Call the Altrusa coordinator listed on the sheet or contact the Literacy Chairperson, Mary Getsee at 622-4220.

The Read In is a project Altrusa has been working on to promote literacy to our Elementary schools.  Each year Altrusa aims to have readers in every elementary class in Marion County at the same time.  It consists of introducing yourself and explaining why reading is important to you and your career.  You will then read a book to the children that the teacher has picked prior to your arrival.  This takes approximately 20 minutes.  Please arrive a little early so you can get checked in and review the book you will be reading.  You can choose the school nearest you or one that is on your way to work.  Please RSVP to the Altrusa coordinator on the attached spreadsheet.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the 16th.

See the attached Excel spreadsheet for the school contact information.
